Though Rin’s eyes wandered when they broke apart, Haru’s did not. In a way, he was grateful for the shark’s averted, for it allowed him to watch Rin’s eyes without there being any awkwardness which, right now, was the best thing he could have asked for. There was something so undeniably adorable about Rin’s actions right now that Haru doubted he could rip his eyes away even if he wanted to.

He was sure his own heart must be beating just as fast as Rin’s yet somehow he managed to hold himself together, soaking up a sight he was sure he’d never see and that in itself keeping his outward appearance calm. About as calm as could be anyway, but that soon seemed to slip when Rin’s hand found a new spot to caress.

At that, he dropped his own gaze, suddenly unable to maintain it as he muttered, “That’s a cute face, Rin.”

Rin expected the other one to naturally contain any sort of shyness. This was Haru after all, but he didn’t mind feeling that slight feeling of cerulean eyes upon him, because that meant it wouldn’t end up with them just standing there like idiots. Oh well, he already looked at them as idiots. Dorks. Something along the lines of that.

When he suddenly saw that Haru moved, seeming to drop his gaze like he was doing too, he couldn’t help but switch positions, now being the one looking at the other one instead of being the one being looked at. Rin blinked a few times before he smiled slightly and once again let his hand move, this time up to the raven’s hair to ruffle it, but only a little bit so it wouldn’t mess it up completely.

"I didn’t think you were ever one to give me compliments like that, Haru,“ he replied, surprised he hadn’t started to deny it while flushed. That would be his normal reaction, but something about this was just too special for him to ruin, so he decided to try and contain his small denial-comments inside of his own mind, strongly refusing to believe he had made any face that could be called ‘cute’.

Even with the reassurance that came with Rin’s reactions and previous words, Haruka still feared that he might react negatively to the kiss, either because he didn’t want it or because he was too shy to accept it.

Thankfully, that was not the case and he felt himself relax when Rin pressed back against him, hesitant but eager. He followed Rin’s new lead, his eyelids drooping for a moment before he pulled away again, his hand still tied with Rin’s own.

The kiss didn’t really last for that long, but it was enough for Rin now, and when he pulled away, he felt the same shyness wash over him and make him look just ever so slightly down, just because he wasn’t sure what was going on.. His heart felt like it was going to jump right out of his chest, but even if he was shy, he did not step away or let go of the raven.

While still having his eyes anywhere but locked on Haru’s own, the hand on the raven’s throat moved so his thumb could ever so gently stroke his cheek, and the action was so small, but it spoke many words for the shark, and he found it easier that way than having to go through the jumbled mess in his head after words again.

When no reply came Haru wasn’t sure whether it was because Rin hadn’t heard him or was ignoring him but he left it at that finding no more words to say to him even as they finally parted ways for the Iwatobi boys to prepare for their race.

Rin was left in the care of Gou, meaning Haruka knew exactly where they’d be seated and would do his best not to catch Rin’s eyes during the race. It would be both embarrassing and distracting, much like the feeling of regret when he considered the fact that Rin would not be racing where he should be.

A last glance, even though he’d promised himself he wouldn’t, was given towards the stands and a flash of red hair before he took his place upon the starting block.

[Rin. I’ll show you a sight you’ve never seen before.]

Of course, Gou was more than thrilled to see her brother there. He got some time to wish his team good luck, as well as he’d give the Iwatobi wishes of luck as well, but it was barely audible since the redhead knew it’d be incredibly awkward for him - who had been such a fucking idiot –  to just suddenly say that like he did as a kid.

When Gou had gotten him to their spot on the stands, Rin took in the area and blinked, looking at the pool with a sigh. Oh, he wished he could stand there now.. Rin then blinked when it seemed that it was time for his childhood friend to be there, and the glance he got made him blink a little before he waited for it to start.

Gou and the others started yelling, as well as every other supporter for the other contestants, and Rin remained quiet for a while before he built up some courage.. He bit his lip, then he cupped his hands around his mouth, inhaled, and started chanting with the others.

                                    “Go, go, go Haru!!

If the shark wasn’t going to compete with the dolphin, he’d give all he got to cheer them on. He didn’t care if his team would be annoyed by it, this was his childhood friends, and he could easily just tell Haru later that Gou forced him to do it – it’d be a perfect opportunity to just.. let it out somehow in a weird way. In Rin’s way.

“I’m not promising anything.” He retorted, adamant that he would leave whenever he wanted, with or without Rin. Given that Rin would definitely be drinking he was sure his departure would be in the shark’s company though unlike Rin’s words, Haru would be the one ensuring they both got back to the room.

As for the drink, he really didn’t care one way or another about it. It wasn’t his thing and he didn’t see it’s appeal but he wasn’t so against it that he cared about others drinking. Just as long as Rin didn’t force it down his throat, he was fine. He didn’t intend to drink tonight though.

“I’m not interested.” Hopefully, voicing this aloud now, while Rin’s mind was clear would make him remember this, but really, he doubted that it would be long before the shark was trying to persuade him with a colourful concoction.

Rin let out a groan before he shook his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Come oooon,” he pushed. He wanted so badly to see how Haruka would be if he were to drink a bit too much. Maybe he was like Legolas? It’d take ages for him to even feel the slightest bit affected by alcohol? It was almost as if Rin was experimenting this. How long does it take for a dolphin to get drunk and how does a dolphin become when drunk?

He didn’t whine too much about it though, because he was one way or another going to make Haruka drink something, and that goal was dead set in his mind when he pushed the doors open to the main hall where booming music could be heard. He wasn’t too fond of it himself, but reminded himself that he was there to do an experiment, and would have to keep himself there to keep Haru there.

"God, I hate loud music,“ he mumbled a bit to himself though, hoping Haru didn’t hear him under all of the noises. It was rather crowded as well, so not to lose Haru out of sight, the shark placed a hand behind the raven’s back and guided him through the crowd towards an empty table where they didn’t have to be standing in the dancing crowd. With a huff, Rin placed his arms on the table before he rested his chin on them, almost pouting.

—- Oh, but I know you want it.
                                               Don’t try to resist it..
Take it now or it’s too late.
Look at how long and tasty it looks..
Don’t you just wanna suck on it all day?
Hmmm….? Come oooon… I can put it in for you.

                                                      Take the fucking lollipop already–

matsuokatt-deactivated20170610 whispered : "Do you love me?" /shot

                                       Eeeeh—??
[ Fuck, answer him already. ]
                                                            I—- I guess.. yeah?

matsuokatt-deactivated20170610 whispered : "Are you sure this is legal?"

I am absolutely 100% sure that this is not legal–

Rin seemed content to continue in silence from there and Haru didn’t push him. No doubt this was already an ordeal for him so he at least ought to save from adding to that.

He hadn’t expected to hear another word from Rin until they joined the group yet just before the team approached he caught the well wishes of the shark. “It wont be the same without you, you know?” Either way, he was determined to do his best out there, if Rin couldn’t compete then Haru could at least swim his very best in his place.

✗【☣】 ➝ Rin tensed somewhat at what Haruka said then, looking down and letting his hair cover his face. Don’t say stuff like that, you fucking idiot. When he was finally safe from any conversation he was having with Haru, he looked up and put on his normally boring looking face. There wasn’t much he could be exited about, right? Even if he looked like he was having the worst day of his life – it was still something that he showed up in the first place…

However, inside of his head he was praying that Haruka’s team actually won. He never cared about winning – he just.. he was only like this now because he was so sad he couldn’t race with his old friends again.

Another disgruntled huff left the raven when those same hands this time messed his hair but he was too busy trying to keep his stoic facade to really put up much of a fight, though the temptation to remind Rin that he was the vain one was strong.

Though he took the offered of the opened door, it was not without first delivering a light punch in retaliation to the ‘lady’ remark. He might be laughing now but Haru was sure that by the time the night was out the tables would have been turned.

✗【☣】 ➝ Rin chuckled softly before the door was closed. Then he took a hold of the raven’s hand to drag him along towards where the main hall was before he had a chance to change his mind. “Promise me to stay for the whole time okay? I know you’re one to run away once things get boring, but honestly, I’ll be bored without a socially awkward dolphin to join,” he said before chuckling again.

"Also you need to try a drink, I’m serious, it’s really good.“ Rin just needed Haruka to say yes and agree with trying to drink some, because he had come as far as pulling the other one with him, now he was going to try and make him drink no matter what. "I’ll look after you so if you end up batshit drunk, I’ll get ya back here.” That was supposed to be a joke as well as a assurance.

nanasefreestyle:

This time it was Haru’s turn to mentally freeze up. The words which accompanied the touch of Rin’s fingers caused his heart to flutter and the heat to rise in his cheeks. Resisting the urge to bring his own fingers to his lips he stood dumbfound for a moment before the words, and Rin’s current behaviour, really sunk in.

Oh. Oh.

Whatever calm he’d felt when he pecked Rin’s cheek seemed to disappear though he was still far more collected than Rin who was now the most shy Haru had ever seen him. Usually, after something like that it would be the other way round and Rin would bound back with his endless charisma.

If he let this moment go now, however, then he wasn’t sure he’d ever take it again. Raising a hand to lightly grasp Rin’s own and stop it’s shuffling he pulled it towards his own to lace their fingers together as he lent to catch the shark’s lips with his own.

✗【☣】 This is it. This is where I die. Those thoughts went through the shark’s mind when he stood there, awkward and shy as if he was a little child on their first day of school – and he felt more and more embarrassed for each second that passed. He still tried to collect himself, tried to come up with anything good to say, but never managed.

Then he was saved when he felt his hand being gripped, not even noticing Haru’s movements till he felt them, felt how their fingers laced together almost automatically. It was almost as if Haruka had read the shark’s thoughts, and with widened eyes, he froze for a second, replaying the moment in his head over and over to try and see if it was happening or not, then his free hand reached up and was placed at Haru’s throat gently before the redhead – now with a bit of more confidence – deepened the soft kiss while closing his eyes.

He also gave the raven’s hand a small squeeze, finally being able to clean up the chaos of thoughts in his head that had bothered him for a while. He’d just enjoy this moment while it would last.
