}Not Quite Human{

rpharuka:

The deep blue ocean, today it was too calm for the raven’s liking. No waves to ride with his board, none in sight and none expected. It had been like this for days now and he still came to the beach day after day hoping to catch a wave. It was his freedom, his release from the real world. He had done in since he was quite young and days like today just didn’t sit well with him. He was impatient for a wave to roll in.

He was lazily laying on the top of his board as it floated through the water and staring up at the sapphire sky above. He found himself daydreaming of his waves. They gave him a feeling like nothing else could, to the point that a few of his friends teased him about it. He had an obsessive personality when he really like something, that was just a part of who he was. He thought he heard a splash and sat up on his board to look around.

     – Don’t go outside of the reef.
                     Don’t leave the area.
                                 Always stay close.

     The same damn messages every time Rin would go out for a swim. He’d always glare at his sister whenever she’d tell him that, acting like she was a parental figure when he was the oldest. However, the merman had decided that today he wanted to go further, basically because he wanted to see – he wanted to see what the human world looked like. For so many years he had been told this and that, the world was dangerous and that they only wanted to hurt him.

     But he still found himself breaking the surface, looking around curiously. Not too far away, he could see land, and he blinked a little before he heard a very soft sound somewhere around him, causing him to turn around and spot someone, hence the soft splashing sound. Rin wasn’t scared, far from it, he just tilted his head curiously before he stayed where he was, taking in the sight of the human. The feet was probably what fascinated him the most..
